Dr. Jim Meletiou
A North Carolina native born in Morganton, Dr. Jim Meletiou also spent parts of his childhood in California, New York, Iowa, and Sweden before returning to his home state. Once he completed his degree at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, he launched his professional life there as well, teaching Oral Diagnosis and Radiology as an instructor at that same college.
Today, Dr. Meletiou blends his passion for practicing dentistry with his passion for teaching it, drawing on advanced training in CEREC technology, the system also known as “same day crowns.” He is among only a handful of dentists statewide qualified to train fellow doctors on this technology, and guiding patients toward a healthy, well maintained smile through this approach is something he finds genuinely rewarding.
Outside of dentistry, one of the accomplishments he holds in the highest regard is earning the rank of Eagle Scout, a distinction he built on afterward by serving as an Assistant District Executive for a Boy Scout council based in Wisconsin.
When he is away from the practice, Jim spends much of his free time outdoors with his wife, Teresa, their daughters, and the family dogs, whether that means playing various sports together or simply soaking up what the Lake Norman area has to offer.
