A beautiful dental crown is individually crafted with dental porcelain. Porcelain is aesthetically beautiful and is also strong and resilient as well. Dental porcelain can be sculpted to recreate the look of your natural tooth enamel, and is an excellent choice when reestablishing the form and function of a damaged tooth. Since a crown essentially replaces the entire external portion of the tooth down to the gum level, it is not limited to simply replacing the original tooth but can be designed and shaped to create an even more beautiful and functional aesthetic appearance.
Beautiful Crowns in One Visit with Cerec
The Smile Architects is one of only 4% of dentists to use Cerec® technology, featuring one-visit crowns. Cerec technology allows our experienced doctors to construct a custom ceramic restoration in a single appointment. Impressions, temporary crowns and second visits are no longer needed.
This ground-breaking technology allows Smile to scan the tooth and transfer a 3D image to a computer, where our dentists can analyze the complete jaw. Smile dentists then design a crown that perfectly fits the patient’s smile. The new tooth is then milled out of a ceramic block right there in the clinic in 4 minutes.
The Cerec method is time saving, the ceramic tooth is strong and has a long lifespan, and the tooth is aesthetically beautiful – perfectly fitting into the patient’s smile in color and form. And Dr Jim Meletiou is a Cerec Certified Trainer with much experience and expertise.
Cosmetic Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are indirect restorations that can be used to help an otherwise healthy tooth with a large filling. Inlays are placed within the grooves between the cusps (points) of a tooth, whereas onlays are placed within the grooves and over the cusp tips. Your AACD member dentist can help determine which restoration is better for you. Inlays and onlays can be used to replace old filings, and are more aesthetically pleasing because they can be made to match a tooth’s natural color. Aside from improving a tooth’s appearance, inlays and onlays can strengthen the structure of a tooth because of their durability and longevity.
Thanks to CEREC, The Smile Architects can provide patients with crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers in only one appointment. Worldwide, more than 30 million tooth restorations have been produced with CEREC.
